How You Can Help
Mount Zion, Jerusalem
January 10, 2024 / Teiveis 29, 5784
With the Tomb of King David at the center of the Diaspora Yeshiva Toras Yisrael campus on Mount Zion, Jerusalem, and with the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yitzchak Goldstein, Shlita, also serving as Chief Rabbi of Mount Zion and King David’s Tomb, the Yeshiva recently launched a new section on its website dedicated to the Tomb of King David and his memory, B”H.
“At this time of conflict between the State of Israel and Hamas, as well as rising anti-semitism in the world, the Jewish people should remember HaShem’s promise to make even the weakest among the inhabitants of Jerusalem like David,” said Diaspora Yeshiva’s project manager, Immanuel, referring to Zechariah 12:8. “If this is our future, it’s something we should keep in mind and aspire to. And if so, we need to connect with King David and be inspired by his life and legacy, and this is the place to do it.”
Currently featured on the new section is an interview with Rabbi Yitzchak on the Tamar Yonah Show on Israel News Talk Radio, in which he presents a few of the proofs that the place on Mount Zion traditionally known to the Jewish people as the Tomb of King David is really his Tomb—also of King Solomon and King Hezekiah. Also included are directions to the Tomb, visiting hours, features of the site, and a virtual tour/walk from the Tomb of King David to Zion Gate, for starters.
The Yeshiva hopes the section will also become a growing library of words of Torah in relation to King David, b’ezras HaShem, to encourage, inspire, and uplift. Those who are interested in contributing are welcome to submit relevant pieces for consideration via kingdavid @ diasporayeshiva.com.
